FAQ

1. WHAT IS THE SILICON VALLEY CHESS CLUB(SVCC)?

Silicon Valley Chess Club is an organization offering chess tournaments, lessons and other chess events online and at various locations across the globe. Even though our current form of online chess club was started on 13th March 2020, the ideas of our club started way back. We were originally named Foster City Chess Club. We had our first USCF tournament on December 20, 2019, and had the idea of starting a chess club in September 2019. Also, SVCC became an affiliate of USCF (United States Chess Federation) on October 31, 2019.

2. HOW DO I JOIN SVCC? IS THERE ANY SUBSCRIPTION FEE?

Any chess player or any chess loving parents can join the club. It is free and there is no subscription fee. Any existing members can refer others to join. Or you can join us by filling out the form here.

At the moment we are only hosting online tournaments on ChessKid.com and Chess.com. Please contact us to join our club on ChessKid.com or Chess.com. Please visit our Tournaments page to see the full schedule.
